"As a new employee last year — one day wound down, and Kelli was leaving the office, and mentioned she was needing some Positivity bracelets. She gathered a bag of bracelets and was headed to a Hospice Center, as if she was going to the store for milk. No big announcement, just an activity she was undertaking. I sat in my chair thinking of what I just witnessed — a true 'connection' by a senior member of the team here, to the community. This activity is typical here at work, and it's contagious" Rick DeLaRoss, their one Manangel.
It was extraordinary to see how Alexa's Angels really incorporated all of their employees into their culture - everything from their 2011 Vision Board (see below) to their catalog where employees and their daughters are the models. And they do simple things that really add a fun personal touch - for example, their employee of the month gets the up front parking space - not so unique, but they take that extra step - they decorated the parking space with chalk and wrote the employee's name along with flowers and took a picture of her in front of it - she's beaming with pride. Same with how they celebrate birthdays. It's not just the typical card and cake for each employee - they've had pinatas and chocolate fountains all depending on what they know that employee would love.
