Why Choose People? 2017-04-10T20:35:01+00:00

For one, we’re dog people.

When we make work better, we make the world better.

Truly.  When people feel good about coming to work, they show up at home as better parents, spouses and citizens.  We’ve all had a rough day at work and shown up as our less than ideal selves at home.  And rough days will happen, they just shouldn’t happen chronically.  This is why we measure the happiness of your employees.

Our Happy Clients say it best.

“I view our relationship with Choose People as the best investment in developing our company culture in 10 years. Kris has been indispensable to our organization and I would recommend her services if you are looking for custom improvement programs that require real, positive, consistent, and dependable results.”

Founded on Real World Experience & Research by Our Fearless Leader: Kris Boesch

Kris Boesch is the CEO and Founder of Choose People.  Choose People launched the summer of 2010. Prior to Choose People, Kris was the CEO of Exodus Moving & Storage. When Kris came to Exodus the culture was toxic and the company was financially struggling. She didn’t have money to throw at the employees to make them happy and moving wasn’t a “sexy” job with great pay and benefits.

Kris knew that if her employees felt good about coming to work, they would take good care of the customers, who in turn would take care of the financial health of the company. She understood that it wasn’t the executive team that took the piano up the switch back stair case, it was the moving crew.

Step by step she turned the culture around. And under her leadership, and under this business model, Exodus Moving & Storage achieved 40% less turnover than the industry average and a bottom-line twice that same average.

Yet Exodus was just one company, one success. This is what led Kris to collaborate with the Industrial Organizational Psychology Department at Colorado State University in 2009 to find out what makes employees feel good about coming to work and how to measure it – across US companies of many different ilks – B to B, B to C, large, small, blue collar, white collar, for-profit, non-profit.

Over 1000 hours of research later they had their answers and laid the foundation for the Choose People 360 Company Culture Audit.

The Science

The foundation of the first step of our Culture Audit, and all of the work we do, is based on over 1000 hours of research we conducted with Colorado State University to find out what makes employees feel good about coming to work and how to measure it.

Craig Dexheimer, Director of Operations & Administration, Salo, Oberon & NumberWorks

“Thank you for a wonderful year filled with many takeaways from your Leadership Development and Management Competency Training workshops. The material you provided was fresh-out of the box thinking with very “useable” tips to easily incorporate into our management style and employee culture. Each workshop had many, many items that I could incorporate personally as well as work with our managers to incorporate on an overall operations basis. Lots and lots of great ideas. It’s difficult to summarize all that I got out of your workshops yet I have learned and continue to work to incorporate many of the concepts into our team.”

Karen Goedert, Resort Manager, One Steamboat Place

“Thank you for your leadership Kris. That was a great retreat and an outcome that far exceeded my expectations.”

Bob Flynn, Co-Owner, Green Ride

“The most important aspect of Kris’s process was the constant support. More than simply diagnosing problems and leaving me to figure out solutions, she guided me through the process, providing tools and techniques to help achieve my goal of a better, more positive work environment. While she played an active role in helping me resolve the conflicts within my department, she also left me with strategies to continue the progress that we started together.”

Nelson Greenlee, Operations Manager, Green Ride
