It would seem to make sense this statement: “We’re such a large organization (1200) and so incredibly diverse – from those who work in the office to those who are out in the field, it’s just really hard to find a solution that works for each department, for each group because they’re all so different – different backgrounds, different levels on the totem pole.”
And if you focus on what’s different, this statement is true.
However if you look at what motivates most of us, not so much.
We all want to contribute.
We all want to be included and feel connected.
We all want to be part of something that’s meaningful and bigger than ourselves.
We all want to be able to support ourselves and/or our families.
We all want to do work we’re proud of.
We all want to work in a place that we’re proud of.
We all want to be valued and respected.
We all want to be acknowledged and appreciated for a job well done.
We all want to be better people tomorrow than we are today.
We all want to be challenged to learn something new.
We all want to know what’s going on.
We all want the best for those we care about – including our co-workers.
And the list goes on. I don’t care how big or how diverse your company is – there is one solution to your employee culture woes that can create a visible significant impact and meaningful change. A solution that speaks to ALL of your employees on a basic human level.
