Are you (or your team) burning out?
Do you feel good at the end of the day? Are you as productive as you used to be? Are you excited about your work?
If the answer (for you or your team) is no, you’re likely struggling with burnout. But we have good news for you: you’re not alone. Studies typically report 50%-65% feel burned out right now—and 80% feel burned out at least sometimes. That’s at least half your team and often more. (OK, so that’s not good news. Stick with us.)
First, more bad news: Our burnout is also getting worse.
While every generation joining the workplace since the 1970s has reported increased burnout, it has increased with the rise in remote/hybrid teams, who report greater stress than people who are fully in the office. It’s little wonder that we’re seeing so much quiet quitting as once outstanding employees burn out and their performance plummets to just the required levels.
But all is not lost.
When we asked our Choose People community if they had advice to share with each other about beating burnout, they (you!) came right back with a flood of insights and encouragement for each other–many of whom you’ve never even met. That’s the kind of world we want to live in and our first piece of (very) good news.
The second is this: Our community brought forth many of the same ideas, but they’re not the only options. After years of doing this work and following the research, we have developed a different approach to beating burnout. It has worked far better for us than a new time-management system or trying to squish self-care into your day, with far more lasting results.
Our different approach
Our framework is a practice of less than 10 minutes each day for 7 days that walks through the science-backed methods that have been most impactful for us and our clients. The last thing we need when we’re burned out is another thing to do, so we’ve made them bite-sized and simple. And we’ve thrown in our super-popular Eradicate Overwhelm exercise because people love it so much.
If you don’t remember what it feels like to end your day with extra energy, to see your team come alive with a new idea, to feel successful at the end of the day, consider trying our 7 Simple Bite-Size Steps to Restore Joy & Vitality for yourself and your team. We think you’ll be surprised at how helpful it can be—and how much better you can feel.
